Inside the Cincinnati Zoological Society in 1914, Martha, the last of the passenger pigeons, is desperately trying to build an "outopia." It is what she describes as a "non-place." She believes that her species will be safe if hunters cannot find them in a place that does not exist. Martha isn't aware that she is the last of her kind. Assisting Martha is a sperm whale named Charles Bronson, who is so tough that one day an action movie star will be named after him. Their work is complicated by the arrival of Cotton Mather, a 300 year-old Puritan minister with problems of his own.

The Twin Cities Daily Planet said that the script "is not only hilarious, it's also deeply moving.
It's a dizzying mindf**k that touches your heart in unexpected ways."
Gestalt returns to The Box after its acclaimed November 2018 run of David Mamet's American Buffalo.
